Everywhere

Everywhere is a macOS menu bar app that quietly indexes every file on your Mac — documents, photos, downloads, mail attachments, and even files on unplugged drives — so you can find anything before you finish typing.

Features

• Instant search — Open with ⌥ Space from anywhere, even over full-screen apps. The first letter you type returns results in under 10 ms.
• No blind spots — Searches inside Mail attachments, Photos libraries, and external drives that Spotlight ignores.
• Advanced query syntax — Narrow results with filters like ext:pdf, size:>100mb, path:Downloads, photo !screenshot, and more.
• Zero window management — Lives in the menu bar with no Dock icon. Press Escape and you're back to what you were doing.
• Keyboard-first — Open files with ↵, reveal in Finder with ⌘↵, Quick Look with ⌘Y, copy path with ⌘C, or open Terminal at the folder with ⌘T.
• Privacy-first — No servers, no analytics, no account. Your index stays on your Mac and never leaves.
• Lightweight — Six million files indexed in ~31 seconds, using only ~308 MB of disk space.

Pricing

One-time purchase of $19 (no subscription). Free one-day trial with everything unlocked.

Requirements

• macOS 13 (Ventura) or later
• Apple Silicon or Intel (Universal binary)
• Full Disk Access required for indexing

Why Menu Bar

Everywhere has no window to manage and no Dock icon to lose. It opens with a global hotkey from anywhere on your Mac, delivers results instantly, and disappears just as fast — the way a file search tool should work.
